Football, Football, and a Little More Football

I love football season. More so this year since two of my boys are playing flag football. I’m actually coaching Coy’s team, my middle son. Today started with an 8:30am game up in Highlands Ranch. I wasn’t sure about coaching football especially since I like being able to photograph the games, but it’s been a great experience and I’ve had the pleasure of coaching some wonderful boys. Hopefully I’ll be able to swing taking some pictures of my team…stay tuned!

From there we went straight to Logan’s game. I rented a 300mm lens to go with my Nikon D200 to photograph our local high school team (more on that later). Although, I’ve posted pictures of Logan playing already, I’ve got to post some more because, well…it’s MY blog! ;-) Plus my parents are out of town visiting my Grandma for her 85th birthday (Happy B-Day Grandma) and I’m sure they want to see their grandson! Here are some of my favorites.

Off to the Races…Catch me if you can…Oh no you don’t!Told you so!Let me show you how it’s done!Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed…Ummm…That’s NOT my flag!Team Work

Finally, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing our local high school football team, the Douglas County Huskies, the past 3 years. Today they faced off against the Range View Raiders, my wife’s alma mater. They put a shellacking to the Raiders by putting up 48 points to their 36 (sorry sweetie). The score makes the game look much closer than it was. The fourth quarter was played primarily by the second and third stringers. The Huskies booster club, the Huskies Quarterback Club, has hired me to photograph just the seniors. At the end of their season they have a banquet and all the seniors get 20×30 posters of them playing. Below is a sample of a possible format for each of the senior’s posters. The Huskies are now 4-0 heading into their homecoming game this coming Friday against Regis. Go HUSKIES!!

Tomorrow the Broncos play…I won’t be photographing that one, but I will be in front of the TV watching!
