Connie and Brian: Anytime

I love getting to catch up with old friends. And by old friends I mean friends that are OLDER than me! Heeheee Whoooh…man I’m funny… Now wait, before you think I’m being mean I would like for you to read an excerpt from an email I received from Connie back in July…and I quote, “I talked to Brian and we’ve (I’ve) decided that it’s time for us to have our pictures taken by someone who knows what they’re doing.  No one was available, so I thought of you.” Yep, that’s right…Connie’s on to me! ;-) In all seriousness I had the pleasure of working with Connie when I was a Network Engineer for Saunders Construction. She’s always been fun and willing to dish it out just as much as I’ve been able to give it. So, when I had the opportunity to catch up with her and her husband of 9 years, Brian, I couldn’t wait! Have a look at their slide show below.

Connie and Brian, thank you for this opportunity to get reacquainted and to hang out in God’s country. You were both great sports and I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Enjoy your slide show!

Blake: Class of 2009

The clouds were building but they usually do in August when you live in Colorado. What’s the worst that could happen? We started the shoot and only got about six pictures in when it started raining in buckets. No biggie…It’s Colorado…this will blow over. We sought cover underneath the school’s archway and watched as it started to rain even harder. I guess that would make it raining swimming pools. Anyway, my wife calls on the cell phone and says that she see’s a funnel cloud just north of our location. Yeah, yeah, whatever. Castle Rock doesn’t see many tornados. What were the chances. Well enough rain poured that we had to cancel the shoot. On my way home this is what I saw:

Yeah, you’d think after 13 years of marriage I’d finally have learned to listen to my wife! So, I did what any guy would do when he sees a tornado…and has a camera with him…CHASE IT!

The good news was that no one was hurt and no major property damage was done.

The other good news was that the weather held out for us to be able to get Blake’s senior pictures done. Blake loves the outdoors and playing sports. College is in his future it’s just a matter of where. As much as he was dreading having to do his senior pictures, once we got into it we had a blast. Thanks for the great time, Blake! I wish you nothing but the best your senior year!

Ashley & Steve: Vail Wedding

It poured down rain. The night BEFORE their wedding. That morning it was cloudy, wet and chilly. The ceremony was scheduled for 11am; at the top of the mountain. If you’ve ever been to Colorado you know that the top of the mountain is even colder and wetter than the city. Still, there was nothing but happiness and laughter from Ashley as she got ready. She didn’t care that it was cloudy. She didn’t care if it was going to rain during her ceremony. She didn’t care if things weren’t “perfect.” She was marrying Steve and for her, THAT was perfection!

Steve was waiting for her at the top of the mountain. As he looked out at God’s magnificence the skies parted. It was almost as if the skies opened up to spotlight his bride as she made her way up the path. Everything was how it was supposed to be, the two of them together on the top of a mountain pledging their lives to one another. It was SPECTACULAR!

Ashley and Steve, thank YOU for sharing this day with me and allowing me to document it. You two are such GREAT people and such fun. I’m better for knowing you both. I wish you nothing but the best!

Miranda: Class of 2009

She wanted to cancel. She was self conscious and was having second thoughts. What seemed like a fun time was now a burden. However, she had this killer idea for her senior photos and fortunately, she found the courage to go through with it.  Miranda graduates in 2009 and it was my honor to get to photograph her senior photos. I’d love to take credit for the idea behind her photo shoot but that was all her and I’d love to take credit for making her look so good, but that’s all her mom and dad’s doing. All I had to do was press the shutter button on the camera. After you see the slide show, I’m sure you’ll agree that she had NOTHING to be self conscious about. She is stunning and has brains to go along with all that beauty.

Miranda, thank YOU for entrusting me with your senior photos. I had a blast photographing you and wish you a sensational senior year.

Best,

Dain
